CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved, non-invasive, and clinically proven way to remove unwanted fat. It can freeze fat cells without damaging the skin, blood vessels or nerves to reduce the appearance of love handles, muffin tops, and other unwanted bulges of excess fat. You’ll notice changes in your body in as little as three weeks, but your body will continue flushing fat cells for up to four months after the procedure.
How does CoolSculpting freeze the fat?
CoolSculpting uses a precisely controlled cooling method to cool, kill and then eliminate fat cells. Using a vacuum applicator, the headpiece is attached to your skin, pulls your skin gently between two cooling plates and begins the cooling process. The procedure takes approximately one hour per area, and immediately the fat destroying ability begins to work by the fat cells being crystallized. The fat cells go through a process called apoptosis and are programmed to die.
Over the next two to four months, the fat cells break down and are naturally flushed out of your body via your lymphatic system. The areas that underwent the fat freeze will begin to shrink as the prior crystallized cells are eliminated during this time.
